Abstract
This text[1] contains considerations on the appearance and effects of the use of mass collected and networked data (“Big Data”), their processing for the purpose of analysis, decision preparation and partly already decision substitution by algorithm-based tools (“Algorithms”) up to manifestations of artificial intelligence (“AI”) in the field of police, security and criminal justice. The result of our considerations is not that the use of new technologies would have to be abandoned, which is not only unrealistic. They can also make the prevention of danger and the detection of crimes more effective.
